Cement is a natural and easily recyclable building material. The tradition of Slovak cement reaches back more than 130 years; it is made from local materials and it employs local people either directly or indirectly via suppliers’ networks.

The Association of Cement Manufacturers of the Slovak Republic represents three cement and clinker manufacturers, who contribute significantly to the top quality of Slovak construction materials using cement as a hydraulic binder. ZVC SR is currently taking significant steps towards reducing the carbon footprint of its products, and in terms of ecological parameters it is already among the best in the European Union and in the world. Since 2022, ZVC SR has been a member of the Cement Europe (European Union of Cement Manufacturers), based in Brussels.

The members of ZVC SR employ less than 1,500 people and in 2022 they achieved revenue of €456 million. Our four cement plants produced more than 4.1 million tons of cement in 2022, while the construction market in Slovakia consumed approx. 2.1 million tons of cement. More than 2.1 million tons of Slovak cement were exported to the construction markets of neighboring countries. ZVC SR is currently represented by 4 cement production plants, 41 concrete plants and 7 quarries and gravel plants throughout the territory of the Slovak Republic.
